Vladimir Kissiov's Biography

Vladimir Kissiov (born on 30.09.1947) is a former Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (1999 – 2001) and Chief Negotiator with the European Union (2000 – 2001). He was Deputy Minister of Industry in the government of Ivan Kostov (1997 – 1998).

Mr. Kissiov worked as a head of International Integration and Coordination Directorate in the Ministry of Industry (1993 – 1997).

As a research worker in the Institute of Communication Industries in Sofia he worked as a designer (1971 – 1974) and head of section (1974 – 1976). He also worked as a head of Radio Link department in the Institute of Radio, Electronics and Technologies (1976 – 1992).

Vladmir Kissiov was appointed as a Director of the European Institute in August 2001.

Mr. Kissiov speaks German, English and Russian. He is married and has one son.
