Sustainable consultation process for effective and harmonious urban planning solutions

On October 26, the European Institute held an online conference on the project “Sustainable Consultative Process for Effective and Harmonious Urban Development Solutions”, implemented with the financial support of Sofia Municipality, Programme “Europe”.

During the event were presented the current state of the legal framework in the field of public discussions and consultations, analysis of the current practice of Sofia Municipality, a model of interactive policy making at the local level, as well as the civic involvement in Varna development projects.

Speakers at the event were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Antoniy Galabov, Director of the Laboratory for Public Policies and arch. Yavor Panev, co-founder and chairman of the Taliana Association and co-founder of Optimistas.

The event was attended by representatives of the regional mayoralties, the municipal administration and representatives of architectural offices and urban planners from all over the country, experts from the working group of “Vision for Sofia”; representatives of the Union of Architects in Bulgaria and the Chamber of Architects in Bulgaria.

The event ended with a fruitful discussion, which provided an opportunity to involve all stakeholders and once again proved the sustainability and benefits of the project “Sustainable consultation process for effective and harmonious urban planning solutions USPEH”.
