2015

In 2015 European institute started the implementation of 3-years International project called “Unity” under EU Security Horizon 2020 call (FCT-14-2014: Ethical/Societal Dimension Topic 2).
The project consortium is led by Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for West and includes partners from 16 EU countries. The project aims at achieving the delivery of three key strategic objectives:

  • Community Policing Best Practice- to capture best practices for cooperation between police and citizens;
  • Community Policing Communications Technology – to develop a communications technology to facilitate, strengthen and accelerate the communication between citizens and police;
  • Community Policing Training and Awareness – to design, develop and deliver training for Law Enforcement Agencies and a wareness raising activities about Community Policing. The project activities combine high-quaility research and field work, including use of pilottesting models and high-tech software tools.
